Bessie & Bit: Curiosity gets a little messy.
Science, stories, and small discoveries with Bessie and Bit.
Episode transcript
Bessie: Same flour. Same water. One extra ingredient. Which dough will rise?
Let’s add yeast to this one and mix it in. Bit, keep an eye on these while we wait.
Later... Look! The dough with yeast has risen. Yeast is alive! It uses sugars and releases a gas called carbon dioxide. The dough traps that gas in little bubbles. That’s what makes it grow. What did you notice, Bit?
Bit: The dough grew. I did not blink.
Bessie: Excellent observing. You can back up now.
